Fees & accessibility
At NeuroKinship Co, we believe that quality support should be reachable. We work hard to keep our fees below the national recommended rates, aiming for a gentle balance between making our practice sustainable and ensuring our services remain accessible for you and your family.
Therapy and assessment fees
The 2025/2026 national rates suggested by peak bodies like AAPi ($330) and APS ($318) for a standard 46–60 minute session reflect the specialized care psychologists provide.
To support access for our community, NeuroKinship Co chooses to set our fees below these recommended rates, balancing practice sustainability with accessibility for the families we support.
Standard consult (50 minutes): $232.99
Ways to use rebates and funding
Private clients
You don't need a referral to see us as a private client. While many people pay the full fee, you might still be eligible for certain rebates depending on your situation.
Private health insurance
If you have private health cover, it's a good idea to chat with your fund to see if they offer rebates for sessions with a Psychologist. Every plan is a bit different, so they can give you the most accurate info.
Medicare Better Access
With a Mental Health Treatment Plan from your GP, Paediatrician, or Psychiatrist, you can typically claim a Medicare rebate for up to 10 sessions each calendar year. The rebate amount is $98.95, which means your out-of-pocket cost per session is $134.04.
NDIS
We are happy to support NDIS participants who are self-managed or plan-managed. Please note we aren't able to see NDIA-managed participants at this time. We'll just need to make sure your funding type matches the service we're providing.
Department of Veterans' Affairs (DVA)
If you're a DVA client, you'll just need a referral from your GP. These referrals usually cover you for 12 months or 12 sessions, whichever comes first. There is no out-of-pocket gap fee for DVA clients.
Questions about fees
How much do assessments and reports cost?
The cost for assessments and reports varies based on what specifically is needed and how complex the situation is. Because every person's needs are different, we provide a clear, individual quote after our first discussion so you know exactly what to expect.
Do you provide reports for NDIS?
Yes, we certainly can. We can prepare reports that include clinical recommendations to help you or your family member access the NDIS or support your ongoing funding and plan reviews.
Do you provide reports for court or medical-legal matters?
To maintain our focus on providing a therapeutic and affirming space for our clients, NeuroKinship Co does not provide reports for any legal or medical-legal purposes, including court matters or custody proceedings.
